Theme Integration/Intentions:
Grove is an attempt at a Hollow Knight like Metroidvania. The intention with the game was to visually utilize the "Start Small" theme. Grove is meant to become a game involving a Small Seed in their Small village within the rotting Forest. The intention is to have the player explore the available areas, defeat bosses to cure the rotting of the Forest and open up new areas. As they explore the world, they will also find new NPCs that will move into their village, which will also grow with the curing of the Forest.
The "Start Small" theme fits with a Metroidvania style game too, involving the gathering of abilities to improve combat skills and traversal abilities in the world.
